... I searched on my phone for things to do in the area with the dogs during the next hour or two. I found a nearby hiking trail that looked promising and drove out to the Elm Ridge Trail.

As we started on our hike, I looked down at my strappy, open-toed sandals, thankfully flat, and crossed my fingers that the terrain wasn't too terribly rugged. I decided to take the out-and-back Escarpment path (the "Fun Loops" looked fun indeed, but with my luck, I'd take ...

So we got ready slowly and went down to the farmers market to buy fresh produce for this afternoon and tonight. It was a gorgeous little market with lots of different kinds of preserves, breads, wood-smoked bacons and maple syrups. They also had the most amazing waffles I've ever tasted. I cannot ...

... she thought only happened in the movies. (The fish was released into the Goldberg's pond later). And then there were fireworks! We headed back to the house and Ben made a fire in the fire pit, and we learned how to make real Smores - a roast marshmallow and piece of Hershey's chocolate between two Graham Crackers. We sang and told stories late into the night until everyone was tired and ready for bed. It was great ...
