... hike nearby. This trail was the Lewis Falls trail and it was 3.3miles and pretty challenging. The views once again were fantastic and it led us to a nice waterfall. This time of year the waterfalls are pretty much just trickles. In the spring they are usually raging gushing beasts but we settled for a pretty mossy covered falling stream. The start of the trail was down the mountain so the hike back up was a little tough and by the time we got to ...

The next morning we knew it was time to get back to nature. The Skyline Drive was right next to us and was calling our names. Our destination was Faber, Virginia at the DelFosse Winery. We learned about the vineyard through a cool website Tommy found called Harvesthosts.com. There are farms, vineyards, and other venues on the website that allow RVers to stay overnight. This would ...

      Brightwood Day 4

Today was a super intense day here at the farm. We had another attack on the ducks and this time it was the ducks that were on the hill behind the house that were attacked. Half of them were killed and the others were all injured. It's definitely some sort of mink/weasel that got in to their house. So most of the morning was spent cleaning up the dead ones, and moving the injured ones to the front pasture where the sheep and lambs are because then Laya the guardian dog can ...
