to the Conference Center for a rehearsal performance of the Tabernacle Choir,
this was fantastic and we both enjoyed the performance. The auditorium is so big that with us seated
in the first level of the balcony section the 360 member choir and the full
orchestra seemed to be in miniature. It
was an amazing experience to see and listen to the choir.
... huge rock formations. Later in the afternoon we basically had a private and very thorough tour of Salt Lake City. Our tour guide was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. We saw stately mansions, a pioneer village, a Mormon Monument dedicated to the soldiers that fought in the Bear Republic war between Mexico and and the California Republic, and Mormon buildings that make up Temple Square. ... and we unloaded the car. We made sandwiches for lunch and say around the big dining table just off the kitchen. Outside every window were more perfect views of quaking aspen trees and towering pines. A hummingbird feeder is hung in the middle of the living room window. After all that shopping, we took a ride to Park City, the ski resort where the 2002 Winter Olympics were held. Lovely old town, with lots of shops and restaurants. Tonight supper was at Flanagan's Irish Pub.
