Andrew appeared at 6.20am to summon Dad to "come and chop down a tree." In the storm overnight a 40 foot pine tree had broken off and fallen across his camper van. Combination of using Sara's car as a ladder and another ladder, they chainsawed it and removed the trunk. Small puncture holes in the roof of the camper and two broken mirrors. ... Mexican meal. Then Rick, Julie, and Ann and John went to the Mormon Tabernacle in the city to listen to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra. Supposedly a "rehearsal" in casual clothes for them, so free!!! Full house for magnificent concert, prior to them going to perform on the east coast next week including Carnegie Hall in New York. Wonderful range of music and song, including some great soloists.

We donned all the cold weather gear - Andrew, John, Emerson and myself - although it was a warmer day. Thermals, ski trousers, anoraks, scarves, gloves and beanies!! . Then we drove up towards Guardsman Pass. We parked, and put on snow shoes. Andrew had skis with 'skins' and had Emerson in a back pack. We then " walked " upwards through the forest to 2750 metres.
