... Italian sculptor. Bugatti's sculptures are mainly of animals, and he managed to portray the individual behaviours and character of each animal perfectly. He seemed to favour the large cats, and his sculptures show how they move, stalk prey, eat etc, although the collection had a vast array of other animals, from birds to snakes. My favourite was the "drinking giraffe" - this captured the awkward yet graceful way a giraffe has to stand to drink, as well as the adorable face ...

The final stop I made was a detour down the nondescript looking Erna-Berger-Strasse. Blink and you'll miss it, but nestled in the trees down this dead-end street lurks ...

... East and West Germany. Along the way there were countless monuments to its history and the reunification of East and West. Tracing the wall's track took us to the Reichstag, Brandenburg Gate, Potsdamer Platz, memorials to those killed trying to defect from East to West, and the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. The Memorial to the Murdered Jews consists of the Field of Stelae, a stunning mosaic of 2,711 concrete blocks of ...
