F-F-F-FREEZING FILM FEST FUN!

... After a stressful spell though the buzz of Marrakech makes me appreciate all we have experienced and everything us Westerners have even more. Morocco is more amazing than i remembered with its incredible colours, culture and continuous backdrop of distant mountain ranges.

Reality beckons as we are back by Chrimbo but for now we are losing ourselves in all sorts of surreal and out-standing cinema in the sunny but still cold capital...

Once again at the Internet Cafe

We have been in Marrakech for three days now and I just finally made it into town because first I was sick then it was pouring down rain. What a drag. Anywho just thought I'd give a quick update since we aren't sure if we will have internet for the next couple weeks.

Thought I'd put in some general stuff

Nothing Like it on Earth

... waiting with my name on a card ha. The taxi drove us to the edge of the medina as you cant get in with cars then the owner of the hotel turned up and a man with a large cart took our bags and started off down lots of small streets making turns here and there I am sure that we are going to get lost. We did get to the Riad and Mohammad who looks after the place told us to take a seat so we sat and he went in the kitchen and made us some amazing food and hot coffee it was ...

A final day in "The Red City", Marrakech

... And oh my, we had the best balcony seats in the house as the sun turned the scene to a rosy glow and the square came alive w/ smokey food stalls, snake charmers, jugglers, magicians, et al as darkness descended.

All in all, a most magical night to top off my fantastic adventures in Morocco.

Not how I planned to spend my birthday

... different to 'home' I booked a short break to Marrakech in Morrocco because I thought if nothing else it couldn't possibly end up like the last time I tried to venture into Africa (when I was sent home!)?! Arriving at the airport, as with most of these sorts of places, we were hassled by taxi's and trying to barter on a price just wasn't goin to happen. The odd thing being that no one wanted to even speak to me ...

Short Flight to a Very Different Land

... Gatwick is the closest airport besides Kent which flies limited passenger flights. Our flight departed at 7:30am so we needed to be there about 6ish. We picked Beth up in Canterbury along the way so we were all very groggy. The bonus if there could be one..... no traffic!! Our flight to Marrakech was uneventful and surprisingly short, only three hours. We arrived in Marrakech with our landing cards filled out. The airport is going ...

A Mutiny in Marrakech

... is excruciatingly long, broken up with occasional comfort stops, stories from me about other tour diversions of an unexpected or unpleasant nature (so that nobody would feel that this is the only group this ever happened to), and a fun little game which turns out to be quite entertaining. Everybody writes down on a piece of paper something that nobody else on the tour knows about him, and then gives the paper to a facilitator. The facilitator reads out ...
