... a very unassuming entrance. In Istanbul, the underground cistern, though 5 or 6 times bigger, is one of the main tourist attractions. This one in El Jadida is 16th century and every bit as well preserved....so definitely potential here. I feel like writing a blueprint for them...sort out the campsite, generate some income off the cistern, reinvest it into the fort!

I made a thick vegetable soup for dinner that night and served it in tin mugs, with fresh bread. We ate the hot and filling meal and discussed the roster for the trip. The wind in the evening was cool so each of us had many layers under the wet weather gear to keep out the biting cold; we all could not wait for the warmer temperatures as we headed south. ... what I was expecting from El Jadida, based on my previous experiences with coastal towns, but much like Meknes, this market brought life to this city. Even at 9PM at night, this city was still bustling with life.
Roaming around the markets for a little while, I had more than enough of the crowds and headed back to my hotel to save my energy for my last full day in Morocco.

... if it would have been in July (no Ramadan) but, at the same time, the harassment levels would have been through the roof so I'm probably fortunate to have been here now. In all honesty, the heat hasn't been half as challenging as I thought it would be, despite my cracks about air conditioning - you get used to it.
I'll miss the call to prayer.

... its owned by a nice french couple and there was a poster on the wwall for a cow festival so after dinner so we asked where it was and they ended up shoaing yus opictures on their laptop of ahen they went to the cow festival and talked to us for half an hour they were so friendly and today there is a wedding at the chateau so i am gunna see if they need help setting up and we have a new counsellor coming tonight so all in alll france is ...
