      ... up and out with the dogs by 6.30 for the usual walk up McGregor Road. Had to bypass the first little park due to Council watering jets: fairly irritating because they water five days a week and the jets are poorly placed. With the amount of water the Council wastes on the parks and verges up McGregor Road you'd think that the grass and garden areas would be lush. No such thing!       ... to the beach to see it as we didn't want to leave without seeing it. The sun sets in the west so what better place to watch it go down than the west coast.....it was perfect. Big day tomorrow. Beautiful weather forecast means that we need to get some beach time in at some stage in the morning before packing up and preparing to hit the road in the afternoon. The chap lifted a pot out of a 1,300 degree furnace ( with lots of gear on of course that he explained all about!) and poured the melted gold liquid into a small bar mould. The pots they use soak in a tiny amount of gold each time, so they only use them for 2-3 weeks and then melt them down to extract $300 worth of gold!
