    ... Off to the Roundhouse which is the oldest public building in WA. Opened in 1831, it was built to hold any person convicted of a crime in the settlement until 1886. Daily at 1pm the Fremantle Time Ball & Time Gun is fired, which was part of a procedure to give mariners & residents an exact daily time check. It is now only done as a tourist attraction.     ... system of punishment had been used up to the day of closure too. We thanked Janine for the tour and made our way along Market St. back towards the train station. It was around 4pm when we caught the train back to Perth. After a walk around the malls for half an hour or so we headed back to The Barracks and relaxed in the Great Hall. Around 7pm we prepared dinner in the upstairs guest kitchen and ate in the dining room that was next door before retiring back to room 31 for the night. ...

    ... I was having more than 2 nights in this lovely place…if I ever get to return to Australia to travel again, this is where I am starting before heading up the West Coast.

    We dumped our bags off and Steph and I had a wonder around the town and down the sea front to the Little Creatures Brewery which was a great free trip out, as they offer a taster tray of all of their beers/ciders (I think there was about 9 each) for free, they also do the Little Creatures tour, ...

    ... lakes and pine trees and we also spotted a few indigenous black swans on the riverbank. We eventually came to a spot where we stopped for lunch, it was on a little bench under a huge tree overlooking Heirisson Island and the Swan River. After our lunch break we continued to walk along the foreshore and all the way back over Perth Causeway bridge towards the city. Overall it took us a couple of hours and it was a perfect way ...

    ... and stuffing all the remaining goods into the vehicle. It was 11:00am when we finally closed the door behind us. That was it, the end of our time living in Perth. We were now officially homeless.
