    ... am I telling all this? Well there isn't much historical infrastructure left to see. Since 1990 efforts have been made to restore Arab and Islamic landmarks and to beautify and modernise the port. It reminded us very much of Two Rocks (Alan Bond's dream resort town) just north of Perth – clean, aesthetic, limestone walls, Mediterranean architecture with no character or feeling.

    ... 3AM on Saturday morning, got on the train to get into the city and the park by about 4:30AM. It was so cold (55-60) and tiring. The ceremony didn't start til 6AM, and there were about 75,000 other people there for the service.     ... talking to everyone. I also played some tag with Scarlett, along with some sort of ninja game. I never understood how that one worked. Scarlett is Rickie's daughter I believe.

    For dessert they had homemade apple cobbler, chocolate cake, and pavlova. It was all delicious! Thank you everyone for making me feel welcome and at home! Stephen also drove me back to Cleo's. Thank you again for the ride's, much appreciated!
