... started our walk. The walk took us up through alpine forests, alongside waterfalls and up to the Rob Roy Glacier. There were only a few hairy parts where the track had been demolished by landslides. Upon our return to Merlz, we realised what ******* idiots we'd been. Today we had a touristy day of wandering around the shops, buying souvenirs and writing postcards. We then went to a cafe for a drink and I had the hugest, tastiest slice of chocolate cheesecake ever! I forgot how good the cakes are over here! ... at it being because this river was so much narrower. Having us inside the body of the raft meant he didn't have to worry about us getting swiped off on the canyon wall when the water got wild. Maybe. Or maybe after what happened on the first rapid, he decided to just commandeer the damned thing and get us out of the way because we weren't coordinated enough to be of benefit.

... breaks. The scenery along the way was mind blowing! I sat with a nice young woman from Salt Lake City. She was taking a year off to travel. You find soooo many young people doing that. I think it's awesome. It's certainly an education for them.
