... and got out of the car a few times for a quick walk and to make the most of some photo opportunities. Waterfalls - mountains - snow in the distance - gorgeous flowers (hmmm maybe weeds but they still looked great!) - grass roofed traditional houses - unique coloured giant boulders....just to name a little of what we saw. Of course the photos don't do it justice.

Took a day trip to a town called Seljord, not really knowing what to expect. And I cannot explain how pleasantly surprised we were! ... weren't disappointed. It really is like stepping back into another era, and has a grace and grandeur that none of today's hotels will ever have. I was also a little fascinated with their courtesy bus which is a modern reproduction of a T-model Ford bus, but with all mod cons right down to cast alloy reproduction wooden spoked wheels.
