Hola amigos!! Well here it is, our first offering from S America. No doubt you`ve been waiting for this with huge amounts of anticipation, so let`s hope you are not disappointed. It`s early evening on Good Friday, the end of day four in BA. Currently it is chucking it down outside, but to be honest that`s some welcome respite from the soaring temperatures of the last few days. We`re in our B&B supping from a litre bottle of Quilmes beer having just splashed out 3 quid for a taxi ride across t...
Buenos Aires, Argentina parkerichHola, Well our Patagonian adventure ended with a flight back to BA. Seems we got lucky, some of our group travelling back to BA had to endure a non-direct 5-and-a-half hour flight, ours was just 2 and a bit hours so we lucked out there! It was nice to be back at Cypress In - it´s become a bit like a home away from home as we´ve stayed there on 3 separate occasions now. We mooched around the Palermo district on Saturday afternoon and happended across a couple of markets, with lots of artesenal...
Buenos Aires, Argentina parkerichFor the last few days we have been staying in a "B&B" (that doesn't really serve Breakfast). This place cost us $5/pp more than the roach hotel and it's super nice. I don't know how the other place gets away with charging the amount it does. When we got to the location they sent us a block away... it's not even the location or photos of the place advertised! Anyways... enough of that. Cypress In (yes, one "n") is so nice and the staff is great. We have real beds with down comforters and bathr...

All this luxuriating can be exhausting. I'm currently having a lie down between breakfast and a visit to the spa. A brief breather in an otherwise exhaustive schedule. The past couple of days have passed in a similar vein, interspersed with pleasant jollies about town. Buenos Aires is a great city to get lost in: we’ve discovered lovely bars and cafés and beautiful walks though the city and along the river. All ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina kath_and_per... Florida Suites hostel. When we got there we stayed our room for a bit and played DS for a bit. After that we went down to the reception were they had free internet access. So I went on the computer for a little while. While I was on the computer I played a game called Dragon fable. Dragon fable is a website were you create an account were you create a guy that fights monsters and stuff like that. Anyway while I was playing that the computer turned ...
Buenos Aires, Distrito Federal, Argentina casebrownfamily... tubes of pure intense flavoured fat…but surprisingly tasty…then we had assado ribs interior cuts of beef and entrada cuts also part of the chest area. Chewy and tasty. And of course a bottle of Malbec. The Argentineans certainly know how to have a Sunday roast….they feast at the weekends. After a coffee we realised we’d taken hours to eat our meal and everybody had left the restaurant apart from some patient waitresses and waiters politely pretending to ...
Buenos Aires, Distrito Federal, Argentina cornflake... we watched the game in a strangely quiet local bar. The closest we came to a soccer match in Argentina was a fantastic tour of the Boca Juniors soccer stadium. Hopefully we will get to see a soccer game in South America further on in our travels. Due to the very strange coin shortage that seems to plague most cities in Argentina, we often had to plan our days around change for the bus. Upon boarding a bus in Buenos Aires you are required to use coins to the pay the fare ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina alamou... onto a coach while a young woman called Vicky guided us round the city over the course of the afternoon. If she wasn't speaking incomprehensible English she was speaking Spanish at the speed of light, which gave us all a bit of amusment. But all the same we enjoyed it. Boca, particularly, was fantastic and don't worry, Dad, I got plenty of photos from inside the staduim.
Thursday's agenda was less formal by orders of magnitude. After a bus, a train and a river boat we disembarked ...
... the shower, where Becky got pooped on twice in the same day by birds and our rough wine trail bike ride. When we look back though, we do laugh about our bad luck. We did have some fun times in this town and most importantly, we met some really great people at our hostel.
