The Curry House - A B&B That's a Cut Above

We just returned from a 4-day weekend in Key West, totally rested and enamored of the fun, great food, and beauty of the island. As we posted a few pictures on the internet for our kids and friends, we noticed how many of them were of the Curry House Inn, our delightful B&B, on Fleming Street. The Curry House is just a hop, skip, and away to the action on Duval Street and Mallory Square, but you feel that you have landed in a peaceful oasis that takes you back to an earlier time when windows and doors were open and you could enjoy the island breezes. This B&B was taken over by a lovely family from Minnesota a few years ago and has been beautifully redone with fresh paint, comfy new beds, nice bathrooms, and a gorgeous heated pool and patio in the backyard. There are balconies off many of the rooms and a nice front porch from which to sit and watch the more purposeful people head down the street. We started the day with a delicious full breakfast, went sightseeing (on bikes delivered to the B&B), then came back for reading by the pool, a glass or two of wine (happy hour is included) and a nice chat with our fellow guests, then out to dinner at one of the many great restaurants incredibly close by (try El Siboney for excellent Cuban food at incredibly low prices.) Terry was always helpful with suggestions for restaurants, towels you could take to the beach, or just to make you feel at home. We lucked out and had a grandson of the former owner stop by and give us some additional history of the house. Not only would we stay at the Curry House if we go back to Key West but it is a reason to go to Key West in the first place!

Great Hosts, Great Location

Spent four days in Key West in January 2005. The Curry House is on a quiet street only a few blocks from Duval, it was everything that we could have wanted. Full breakfasts were a treat, the secluded backyard with pool was the perfect place to unwind after an evening on Duval, the room was large and comfortable, the inn kept spotless. Our hosts were gracious and helpful. We would gladly stay here again.

Loved Curry House!

I loved this place! Perfect location (quiet), beautiful house and garden, delicious breakfast and great hospitality. I especially enjoyed happy hour on the pleasant porches. I highly recommend!

Perfect House!

I am working within the travel buisness in Sweden and have travelled around the world and stayed in many hotels... But to stay at The Curry House in Key West was a very special and magnificent experience of high class for those who does not need to have all kinds of facilitys 24h a day. The Curry House is a 9 room beauteful and cosy house in the traditional Key West style situated in one of the best spots in Key West. With terrific service and cleaning, kind staff and with a wounderful breakfast. A house with a lovley outside and inside.. The charming ide of a "Happy Houre" in the afternoon where the guests were offered a free glas of refreschments (wine) and some snack every day around the heated pool, is a lovely extra gesture which was highly appriciated.

No words can really explain how it is to stay a few days at the peaceful Curry House in Key West, you just have to make it your own experience! I am sure ill go back to this house every time ill visit Key West in the future. Thank You The Curry House!

Nice Place to Stay

I was a guest of the Curry House from 1/13/05 to 1/17/05 and couldn't have picked a better place to stay. The hosts were great people and the hot breakfasts were delicious. I hope the next time I'm in Key West that I am able to get a room here.

Loved the Curry House

Our very first trip to KW was excellent. We flew directly into KW and the Curry House was only a 10 minute cab ride. It was very clean and the hospitality was out of this world. If you ask for information they are ready and willing to assist you but if you want some quite time you are able to do that as well. The breakfasts were fantastic, the french toast, mango pancakes. etc. Just Great! All of the info they gave us were correct. The rooms were fantastic as well. We had the rooms overlooking the pool, what a view each morning. The area is nice and quiet, slept like babies.

The Perfect Place

After searching for weeks to find a decent B&B in Key West, we chose the Curry House. We were there from 11/20/04 to 11/27/04. We weren't sure what to expect upon arrival, but we were pleased the minute we walked in. Andrea was there to greet us in spite of our late arrival and made us feel at home. A hot breakfast in the mornings and Happy Hour every afternoon. The location is in a quiet area (one way streets are much quieter than two way streets) but in walking distance to everything. The rooms are quaint and clean. I recommend Rooms 2 or 1. They are on the 2nd floor with a balcony overlooking the pool. The atmosphere is so relaxing. I would recommend this place to everyone who plans to visit Key West... it is the Perfect Place.

Home away from Home

Curry House is the best place and now the only place I will stay on the Island,its clean,beautiful,quiet and private,intimate,and the best part of the stay is the Innkeepers themselves.They strive to make you feel at home and comfortable,to top it off,the best breakfast anywhere around..

Good people, good house

Very nice innkeepers in a great house. Clean and nice house. Staff friendly and knowledgeable. Location is excellent near the heart of old town but quiet. Highly recommended.

Great place to stay, the people are the best hosts!

From their web page it says "enjoy a Midwest welcome in paradise" and they were not kidding. The Curry House B&B was a great place to stay and Andrea was as kinda and thoughtfull a person as I have meet. I'd suggest a look at their website for anyone, I know I'll be back next year.
