Motorcycle: 175 miles, Stowe, VT to Monmouth Maine It's cloudy, but we are dry this morning. We take our coffee and walk downtown. A stop by a Jerky boutique and we learn more than we thought you could about beef jerky. The gourmet jerky is not like the leather you buy in most stores. ... Hilary, was an awesome experience. Mead.....wine made from honey. I only put up pictures of 2 of the names but they all come from myths. Really neat reading about what the gods were noted for.
Of course everyone knows Ben & Jerry's ice cream. Our tour ended with an ice cream sample called "salted carmel." The samples are usually never found on the grocery store shelves.
We then went to the little town (I should call it a village) of Groton. There is the most amazing place there that makes wine from honey. The name of the store is Artesano Mead. They also have a web site www.artesanomead.com. I am placing the pictures of the different vats that the wine is made in with the history of the name they have given to the wines.
