Vermont and Its Little-Known Border Town

... out of the way from almost every state, including the surrounding New England states, it’s a must-see for any international boundary enthusiast like myself. Also, make sure to learn even a little French if you want to interact with the locals, and because French is spoken basically throughout Quebec, that little piece of tape and row of potted flowers won’t save you (even though English is spoken as well, it’s always fun to try to fit ...

Another day of skiing!

A travel blog entry by matt-hryniewicz on Mar 01, 2015

Went skiing with the Reidy's and their cousins. Jay Peak is definitely a must on a skiers list. Some sweet glade skiing for novices. Packed powder. 25 degrees. Barely a breeze. We'll see about that.

Like the local maple syrup my sap is falling, driven predominantly by a stinker of a head-cold. Had it now for 3 days and buying suitable medication for the symptoms requires considerable pharmaceutical expertise in the cheap Dollar Stores. I plumped for something that is supposedly the "same" as paracetomol, but it could just as easily be a "horse pill". I am still alive nonetheless.

Touring Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream Factory

Just doesn't get any better than starting your day by going to a Ben & Jerry's factory and tasting ice cream. What a success story. We really enjoyed the tour of the factory. I was surprised to learn they freeze all of the ingredients before they put them in the ice cream. If they would not do that, the items would just blend in with the ice cream. Our sample was a caramel ice cream with caramel and chocolate swirls ...
