Rainy day in Tulsa
We drove through the miles of grassy High Plains from Amarillo through Oklahoma City to Tulsa, OK. We were imagining the buffalo roaming. I-77 turns out to be the only interstate toll road in the US. The toll taker said that 40% of the drivers on I-77 are from out of state and that it was better that they paid for the road than the locals. Pre-trip packing and thoughts
... was checking the flights (again, lol) to make sure the times hadn't changed or the plane spontaneously combusted. It turns out there is a cute, red exclamation mark next to the Paris and Bologna connection. Apparently I may miss the last leg of my journey there due to a short layover. Surprises
So currently I am back in Tulsa for just less than a week. I drove down on Wednesday and surprised Maggie. (She thought I was coming down later...whoops. She doesn't like surprises that much, but I do). So, I'm having a pretty good time here. I'm hanging out with my brothers, my Kappas, Maggie, my other friends and trying to get a lot done on campus before I leave. It's nice to be back in Tulsa. Anyways, I'll update you all ...
Day Three
... and it was a good dinner topped with a piece of Chocolate Pie. Not too shabby with only 60 miles on the historic route 66 left to Tulsa.
The last few miles we wove through the countryside and were able to see a nice sun set and get safely to our motel in Tulsa. The Desert Hill Motel which is fine for a night, but bright on the inside with a nice shade of lime green.

Final Thoughts
... everywhere in town we went, not just because they were outside our hotel window....they had a beautiful rich sound, and they were rung with abandon, not just the number of times for the hour, but over and over as if someone were actually ringing them by pulling on a bell rope and swinging...I told John that it must be what is meant when you read that "the bells were pealing!" For John, the church bells in Rome never measured up to this sound he had heard ...
