We gotta get out of this place! If it's the last thing we ever do -- The Animals, 1965 Newport, AR was a little rough around the edges -- so much so that the woman at the Arkansas welcome center rolled her eyes when we mentioned we had spent the night. Her advice to travelers on that section of highway is to push through to Little Rock, and never, ever, stop in Newport. Oh well, how were we to know? All part of the adventure. ...

... people of Nauvoo the most wonderful people under the heavens. They built a temple that was, at the time of construction, the largest building west of Philadelphia. Everything was locked up so I could not see the inside.

Well we finally arrived home today!! After 65 days we logged 9,217.7 miles, 201.2 hours driving. 7 states, Alaska and 6 in the lower 48, In Canada, 4 provinces and 1 territory. Wow what a journey, many unforgettable sights and new friends made!! But there's no place like home & family.
