A travel blog entry by marshallrj on Aug 26, 2014

... takes no more than ten mins. At the airport, we clear security with no drama at all and at the time of writing, just finish up in America with a quick meal at the airport. Our plane is due to take off at 8.30pm but is showing 8.37 at the moment so hopefully that is nothing. San Diego airport, does not seem at all busy this evening, we wander around to get our bearings and there are a few shops and eating places, we find one we like ...

Never mind, we still have a lot of adventures ...

... lions, tigers etc. the enclosures are so realistic that sometimes it was hard to actually see the animals and so you had to wait quite a while or give up trying.

They have a new Outback area which is full of koalas, kangaroos and Tasmanian devils. They call it Koalafornia. We didn't spend too much time there as we couldn't see the point of travelling half way around the world to see the neighbours. In ...

... The Wizard of Oz was written there, and Some Like it Hot was shot inside. It's America, everything has film connotations.

On the run back to our hotel we passed San Diego park and zoo which are also rated up there in the worlds best. This city really has a lot going for it. It's worth spending more time but we have already seen and done so much on this trip we were happy to just have a quick look. We were also happy that our hotel was a beach resort well out ...
