The trip there didn't go so well with the trolley having problems so a bus trip and a few changes later we finally arrived at the zoo. ... thing was the change of temperature between the start of our trip and our arrive to the self-proclaimed "America's Finest City".

El Centro's temperature was 106 degrees when we departed, but as we slowly ascended and descended through a mountain range the temp slowly started going down as we approached San Diego County. We we arrived to our hotel it was a mild 76 degrees. After the heat in El Centro and Phoenix this made for a refreshing relief! In fact, when ...

... so SO hard. After Erik and his parents returned, we decided to head to Pizza Port for dinner and drinks in nearby Solana Beach. The pizzas were both unique and delicious, as were the beers. I was excited to be out and about after the week inside. Pizza Port was packed with people the whole time we were there and seats did not stay empty for long - definitely a sign of a great place. After dinner, Ken and Jean headed back to San Diego and we made a quick stop ...
