          Riding through Troy, PA

The first time I road through Troy, PA, I was traveling by minivan on Rt. 6 (a nice ride in itself). It was nice to see the town again. It's a pretty town in northern PA. The one thing that amazed me about Troy are the number of old, fancy houses. Given the surrounding areas and no obvious signs of industry, the town appears to have had an affluent past and a seemingly healthy future.

          Gas and a stretch

A travel blog entry by backroadtravels on Sep 25, 2015

Didn't realize I had gone almost 130 miles already, just cruising along Rt. 15 through upstate PA enjoying the change in scenery as it was, ever so slightly, beginning to take on the look of Fall. Canadians love to mow their lawns; even those with more than an acre of land use their riding mowers to keep the grass looking beautiful. It rains enough here that sprinklers aren't necessary to keep the lawns looking green and lush. We found almost all communities to be neat, clean and organized, showing pride of home ownership.

Tomorrow we move about 70 miles down the road to the capital of Pennyslvania, Harrisburg. We will be staying thru Labor Day. We hope to to visit Gettysburg, Hershey and Lancaster.

          Having fun!!
