    ... The kids are swimming now. I think we will go to the Cheyenne Zoo as recommended by our waitress, Shelley who just went there and said it is one the best zoos she's been too. We try to take recommendations and usually they end up being some of our faves. Tomorrow after we explore CS a little, we will head to Taos for 4 nights to recoup and eat homemade food.  Once again, we missed another storm passing through Denver today. Not a drop of rain for us.     ... Tv until 10. As darkness fell, all the lights of the city came on below us, it was beautiful. so quiet and still up on the mountain, looking down at the rush...I took several pictures, but they just aren't the same as being there. (By the way , I found out a use for that switch above the door. The awning lights! Of course. I felt like Ellen on Christmas vacation when it occurred to me! Lol ...

    Exhausted from our drive, we finally arrived in our hotel near Colorado Springs. We knew we had two options for visiting the Great Sand Dunes National Park. Arrive early or go later in the afternoon. Going in the middle of the day was hazardous as the temperatures of the sand can reach 120 degrees. OUCH!!!! After three days of endless hiking and driving, we decided on a mid afternoon arrival.    The towns we drove past to get to Colorado springs had interesting names ...
