DAY 2: After getting into the rugby down in Dunedin i was very eager to get another game in, and as if by chance the Ortgo Highlanders were playing today against the Wellington Hurricanes on St Patricks day, so i decided to go and get me a ticket, this proved to be a peice of cake.
But the game was early evening so i needed to entertain myself for a few hours until the game....and for free if possible.

A Tourist in Wellington
Today I got up and went into Wellington with Vaughn. I spent the day as a complete tourist. My first tourist activity was to go to the Beehive and government buildings where I walked around the grounds. I then took the cable car up to the botanical gardens which I spent a few hours walking around. They have a lovely view of Wellington city from up there and so many different gardens. ... they initially filmed LOTR they took the whole set down so there used to be hardly anything to see, however as the Hobbit has recently been filmed, they re-built the entire Hobbiton set, including additional bits to include in the Hobbit. There were lots of little hobbit holes to look around (there is nothing inside, only exterior footage was taken here), and they are all individual as well.

Michael enjoyed the shocking match that ensued, and Amy enjoyed her first meeting with the enthusiastic Yellow Fever supporters (although she didn't notice that the opposition had scored - mainly due to the fact that it was an Australian team and they only had one supporter in the entire stadium). The next few days before moving in saw us take in a smidgin of the impressive (both in size and quality) Te Papa museum and watch the Hell Wellington Firebirds ...
