... than the 10 bed room partiers. I can’t handle all of that tonight, especially when I have a book to get started on and up and out at 5:00 in the AM. We are going to stay at a pub hotel right down the road tomorrow and there is going to be plenty to explore. It feels good to be back in a big city with everything happening around me. The small town the past 12 days had really gotten to me.


So let a new chapter of my life begin. Let’s turn another page ...

... Charles, Graham & Debbie arrived and we broke out the fruit cake! Many photos had already been taken but we had to make the others jealous so the swings were calling. We discussed how it might be possible for me to join them for a little jaunt on the bike in the middle part of the day and I set off to find a suitable spot. ... s and through his ideas was instrumental in the formation of the National Trust here. His interest in arts and crafts also saw the development of Ruskin Lace which is still in operation today and the wallpaper which hangs in two of the beautiful rooms was also designed by him.

Our two weeks here in the Lake District have been absolutely wonderful and it will be hard to leave knowing that there is so much more to explore and see here.

... visitors descend on the lakes and the roads and consequently the car parks fill up rapidly hence our wise decision to leave our car at home and bus hop. Our activities were certainly much less strenuous than his. We enjoyed wandering around, window shopping, and admiring the buildings and houses of the villages. The gardens are a real picture at the moment with flowers of all types and colours filling pots and beds.
