... Mary Rose. It is a very pretty little village with a tourist train, walking and hiking trails, cycling possibilities, and presumably fishing opportunities. The drive east across the mountains provided some wonderful views of quite barren hilltops, deep glens, fat cattle and sheep and alternating patches of drizzle and sunshine, and unrelenting strong, cold wind. Last I wrote, I think we were heading to York which we spent a day in. We saw a public installation by a very clever artist who had steam-rolled silver objects and suspended them from the ceiling of a church. I've made it sound very strange but it was awesome.
