Everything is Green!
I got up at 8am and drove into town to find a supermarket. I bought provisions for breakfast and picnic lunches, coffee, and something for tonight's dinner. I also stopped for gas. If you aren't paying attention, it seems cheap: "$1.65?!?" But of course, that is in Euros. And in liters! Best to not think about it. And in any case, our Jukebox gets great gas mileage! I got gas at a small family gas station. The cash register was operated by a 10 year old girl ( /- 2) ...

... William Bowers Bourn owned the Muckross house in the late 1800 to early 1900s. In fact, we learned that murals of Muckross house and grounds are painted in Filoli Gardens. By the way, Muckross in Irish means pig peninsula.

... treacherous--a running theme for the rest of the day.
Our second stop was Corcomroe Abbey, built by some recluse monks in the hills of the Burren. A lot of this abbey was still intact (nice try, Cromwell), especially the copula stonework. Before lunch, we also hopped out of the bus along the coastal highway to take some pics at the "mini cliffs" and enjoy the fresh ocean air. We stopped for lunch at Doolin, a cute little village just a few minutes ...
Midterm Break
... Killarney Royal hotel to unpack their things and we headed to the pubs. I took them to the Laurels and we sat and waited until 6:00 so we could order from the dinner menu. We chatted and caught up with each other.
We went to Courtney's later that evening and met up with Shannon and Megan for her birthday. After that we met up with Paula to celebrate her last night in Ireland at The Grand and watched some Irish Set Dancing.
