... to make sure that I make it back to my starting point on my own. I have had Search and Rescue called on me in the past and I promised myself not to let it happen again. Besides, I've heard news that the grizzles in these parts actually eat their kill. :(

... were planning 2 days on the West side of the Park on Friday and Saturday so we figured that we could explore that part then. There was some road construction which caused a couple of short delays at the beginning but apparently the parking Fairy is also the road construction Fairy because we had about a 30 second delay each time when there was usually 30 minutes. ... so we said we were fine on the open chair lift. Up up and away.


Right away we had partial second thoughts when the wind immediately whipped up and all over our still damp clothes. Still, not like we had a choice now. So grit the teeth hug the one your with and keep going.



It all worked out though as we instantly started to see cool stuff so it was worth it.

... jam sandwiches and the beauty of this place. BTW huckleberry everything is sold here. We especially like the milkshake! The drive to Avalanche Creek trailhead takes you past McDowell Lake. Not to be diminished in anyway cuz it is magnificent. I really need some new vocabulary words to describe the beauty here. Awesome, stunning, spectacular, breathtaking....so ordinary! Just too much to take in for one day. Back at our campsite...maybe a short ...
