      We woke to a knock on the door and coffee served in china demi-tasse on a silver tray. What a change from camping! In half an hour our breakfast was served in a dining room filled with period antiques. We met several other couples who were staying at "The Cottage Plantation" (which is hardly a cottage) and heard about their trips. After breakfast we were given a tour of this historic home. ...

      After leaving Rosedown we drove a few miles on to our bed and breakfast for the next two nights- whew- no more camping! We are staying at The Cottage Plantation- a few miles north of St. Francisville. We hear that General Andrew Jackson also chose this plantation to rest at after the Battle of New Orleans!

      We left hot humid New Orleans to begin our trip up the Mississippi, and after collecting another car, we drove via Baton Rouge to this quaint parish as they call it St. Francisville.
