... Popo Agio River (pronounced Popo-shuh) dives into this limestone formation at a place called "The Sinks", runs underground through as yet unexplored caverns for about 2.5 hours then rises up about 1/4 mile away at a place appropriately called "The Rise".

Also, there must be springs in the limestone formation because more water flows up through The Rise than enters the Sinks. Most unusual. ...
