      ... I missed out.. If you only knew how difficult to work this blog programme is you would cherish each and every entry - but maybe you do anyway. Hmmmmm.


      The rest of the morning I lolled round the pool, didn't swim as I felt too lazy to come upstairs for my cossie but sat on a deck chair, read my Book on the mini pad, a Michael Connelly, and watched the world go by. Sipped a delivered beer to my deck chair ...

      ... lightning and thunderous tympani. Escazu and San Jose are in central Costa Rica, surrounded by mountains, and these make the perfect setting for afternoon storms during "winter." The storms often lasted for many hours into the evening. It wasn't very cold, but being outside was very wet. We both had umbrellas, and made sure they were in our backpacks when we left for school in the morning.

      ... a taxi. Once outside, taxi drivers discussed for 20mins where our hostel was, all the while we have 50 more drivers and shuttles yelling at us to catch ride with them. Was kind of humbling – I felt like a movie star arriving on a red carpet the way they were all fighting for our business!

      Eventually the driver decided he knew enough to get us safely to the hostel, so off we go. Thirty minutes and a few wrong turns ...

      ... time up with activities such as chess (in which I am a terrible sore loser), cards with a delightful couple that must rank somewhere in their late 70's and my personnel highlight playing some indoor soccer with our guesthouse owners friends! The week was basically a chance to relax prior too moving to our own unit for a full month and it didn't disappoint.
