      ... wifi, a shower, and a bed to sleep on. That was all I needed. And like I said, the location was totally worth it (and breakfast was included!). So after checking in, we put our things upstairs and went on the search to find some breakfast. There was an awesome Colombian Panaderia about two blocks away from the hotel.       ... lightning and thunderous tympani. Escazu and San Jose are in central Costa Rica, surrounded by mountains, and these make the perfect setting for afternoon storms during "winter." The storms often lasted for many hours into the evening. It wasn't very cold, but being outside was very wet. We both had umbrellas, and made sure they were in our backpacks when we left for school in the morning.
