    ... to boil as the whitebait jumped in a vain effort to escape the predators below them. The irony is that larger predators lurked above. We whipped out our rods and feathers and caught half a dozen good sized mackeral in a few minutes. We plan to barbecue them at Lantic bay tomorrow evening.

    ... a pass on a clear day, looking back as far as the horizon and picking out a point that you recognise from two or three days ago. I hope I never forget the feeling as we climbed up to get onto the Pennine Way near some old Roman marching camps (I forget their name).
