    ... She confirmed it was a shorter route, and said no one had ever come that way before. I wonder why? She also advised that the very private coastal property I slunk through was owned by a very private author, the one who writes the Tinker Tailor spy novels (John Le Carre I think) and suggested it was fortunate indeed he didn't spot me.

    ... forward to seeing, the apparently cute village of Mousehole, and I'm hoping the tides will be kind to me so I can walk across to St Michael's Mount, and it will be fun to say I've been to Lands End. I was also looking forward to seeing Penzance the final destination of the walk on Friday, but I'm told it has fallen on tough times and is quite run down and unattractive nowadays..

    Bumping into three Swiss gentlemen for the third time in four days on our way out to see Land's End, just 1 1/4 miles from Sennen Cove.

    ... checked me out and put my mind at rest. He reckons it's no more than dehydration! And he's probably right; because it's been so cold I haven't been watching my fluid intake as carefully as I normally would. It just demonstrates what a softy I am compared to Cate.     Rich, Tracy and Anne were all up early this morning as they had loads to get sorted for breakfast. Anne went to Asda early to get the last few things we needed for the table. The dining room was decked out with all sorted of Happy Birthday banners and balloons and the table was set then the kitchen became the focal point as we prepared breakfast.
