    ... but we paid about $60 night and there is a really nice diner just across the parking lot (Wild Goose Bar and Grill). So all is good. We plan to make Wild Goose our regular spot as long as we're in town.

    It was hard going to my dad's house for the first time without him being there. Empty. Even George looked sad.

    ... we and a lovely lunch by the river.

    We sample some of the local 'Lithua' water (tasted revolting due to the high magnesium content) before going on a walk through Lithua Park (and letting Francesca play on the play equipment).

    As we came back past the theatres there was a Mexican ? group playing and dancing - so we stopped to watch that to pass the time.

    ... draws the tourists for their renowned theater company, featuring the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, as well as other non-Shakespearean shows in both indoor and an outdoor venue. With tourists a plenty, there was still a local butcher, a bakery, at least two fabric stores, and two bead shops mixed in to make the locals (which I am now considering myself) feel at home.

I had no alternative other than to call out an expensive tech to take the laptop away firstly to try and retrieve our data, and when that failed to reload Windows and Office leaving me to spend hours re-installing previous software and trying to restore things much as they were.
