Just north of the town of Rockport on the coast the CA 1 heads off inland. We decided we had seen enough of the tarmac albeit the coastal drive still being very photogenic. So at N39 46.826 W123 49.903 we ducked off the CA 1 onto the Usal Road, what was probably an original logging track through the forests which for many years were the scene of massive timber production. The track very soon deteriorated into a rutted gravel route, winding its way up ...
... now... at first it was hot, but now turning to a refreshing warmth.
We are about an hour short of our destination point of Ashland, and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, so the next couple of days will be a little more stationary.
