    ... Ouray is the home of MacGyver’s grandfather, Harry. The town is used as a backdrop for the first-season episode, “Target MacGyver.”

    ... steve no....get over......we didn't pay for this"...... Got back into town and ended up in a private party for the "colorado 500" in the outlaw inn again. Had a few cocktails and the hostess gave us the wink to carry on. The 500 are all bikers, who do a route for charity. I still managed to get mauled at the bar by one. Kathryn went nanas with the camera today..... It was fantastic ...

    ... one-way road, and soon steep, pointy switchbacks would start inching down the mountain. These switchbacks are said to be incredibly difficult, and it is likely to scrape or dent the jeep if you take this trail. So, it was probably better that we had to skip this portion of the road.     A real western cowboy town with the original saloon bars, hotels and banks that have changed little in 150 years.

    There are some great old Hotels in town, that are plainly authentic and original. It would be fantastic to stay in one and feel like a proper cowboy adventurer, however ......................

    Oh we'll, at least our motel has a pool and air con. Oh, now I think about it, it doesn't.
