Edinburgh Day #2
... spent numerous hours just there – but time was short and I was hungry.
I exited the castle and walked downhill to the nearby Castle Arms pub, where I ordered for lunch the Scottish traditional dish called haggis. It’s a hamburger-like patty of finely chopped lungs, heart, and liver of a sheep mixed with oatmeal and stuffed into a sheep’s stomach bag. That’s what Lonely Planet describes haggis as anyway – I didn’t see anything ...
Our first tattoo
... you to the best and funniest show and/or performance to see that was "just around the corner". As we were staying on the Royal Mile (just down from Jeffrey st) we caught a gig a couple of doors up at the White Horse. This Pub is tiny and I reckon is only as big as the back L shaped area of the WDHBC or for those from Newy imagine the front section of the old Hunter on Hunter pub. Tiiiiny but perfect for an intimate comedy gig.

· Tikal is a must, and would recommend staying in Flores. Gorgeous sunsets over lake and swimming with the local kids in the lake. La Terraza great little restaurant. Definitely do the 4.30am tour, early morning light beautiful, loads of monkeys and wildlife, and you have the place to yourselves. Make sure not thousands of people in your group.

New Years in a new land
... we could see cascading down the mountains as we drove along the motorway. It was a long day of driving, as we somehow took the very scenic route to Inverness, but we had a lot of laughs along the way. We arrived back in Edinburgh that evening and went out for dinner at a cute (and very cheap!) Italian restaurant.
That night, was the last night of the tour and one of the girls and I met everyone in the bar and went out to a nightclub with 5 levels. It was pretty cool and I ...
