Last Days in New Zealand :'(
It took two rides to get to Nelson. The first was with a trucker transporting race cars. He said he had a mate in Christchurch who owned a few bars and could get me a job and sponsorship for a visa easily enough. I took his information, but I don't think it's actually that easy. Finding a sponsor isn't the hard part, it's convincing immigration that no Kiwi can do the job I'm being sponsored to do. But this guy was so keen to help me, he offered me a room in his house ...

Sunnier climes

We had to walk over a small creek (they laid on a mobile footbridge for us!) to get to the boat which was moored further up in deeper water. These boats have hydraulic bridges on the bow, which can be lowered to let passengers off without getting their feet wet.
