... floor and face aft.. and row the boat stern first facing downstream.. like sitting on a datum line.. fore of center... in a sense maybe its actually aft of center depending on how you look at it... so if I were flying backwards down stream .. facing the tail of the plane... anyway.... the boat was easier to control... as nutty as it sounds.. it was..........

so I am going down river stern first.. got it...? The Good life............

... they make us feel so very much at home, and we enjoy our time with Kathy and Gary and the extended family.
On our last night (Labor Day night), we had the added excitement of a tornado warning just as we were all going to bed (Gary was asleep already!) - so we gathered down in the basement for a half hour - no harm, no foul!

We leave Joplin early in the morning to get started on a 300 mile drive to St Louis.

But first we go to Carthage. What is in Carthage you ask? Well a blog that I read mentions that this is the town that Hill Valley was based on in Back to the Future so of course we go. Finish arranging "our" things on the RV, and then see if there's any room left to make a run to Trader Joe's for Elizabeth to stock up on some of her favorite items as there are no Trader Joe's in Alaska.
