Wieder zurueck im Sommer. Die eine Woche in Deutschland verging wie im Flug.

Volunteering in Paradise

Back in the UK we had arranged to do some volunteering at a Scientific Reserve Island called Tiritiri Matangi. Tiritiri is a paradise for the endemic endangered birds of New Zealand, here's a few of them (we have added pictures where we can but some of them managed to elude the camera)

    ... acht habe ich aufgegeben und bin totmuede ins Bett gefallen um dann 12 Std. spaeter und zu bedecktem Himmel wieder aufzuwachen.

    On the 28.11.11 we had a trip to the Plaza. Nothing special. But then Stewart left our wallet on the bus. Money, cards, our licences!! Luckily it was found, so we picked it up the next morning from Orewa. Minus the $5 (£2.50).

    We also got to see Henry George on Sykpe, who was born on the 23rd Nov.

    ... our walk, we got lunch in the village and then Steve left us, at which point our stay became far more lazy and we spent the remaining days exploring the island walks and managed to fit a couple more vineyards in as well. We did have a slightly surprising encounter with a nudist beach during one of walks – why you would route a public walkway through the nudist beach I do not know but we just kept our heads down and kept walking – those folks certainly weren’t shy! ...
