    ... then stopped at one of the parks to get some information. On our way there we saw a sign for a wild elk area and drove up to it to see if we could see the elk. It was a pretty isolated spot, but we didn't see anything so we kept driving. A few miles up the road were cabins you could rent, and wouldn't you know, there were all the elk.....by the people begging for food! We decided they probably liked cheetos from human vs. hunting for their own food.

    ... was certainly in our direction – only 12 more miles. Of one lane curvy gravelly roads.

    We had long ago past the point of no return. The hills that we came over were brutal, we couldn’t go back. With of a tank of gas and lots of daylight we kept going. At that point our 1 hour easy drive to the River had clocked 2.5 hours with 12 more miles of unknown left, at 15mph.
