... eyeing the newcomers! We are staying in Beyaglu which is the district of Istanbul which is called the buzzing bohemian centre! It's buzzing alright! It's also a mix of very high end shopping and very low end living areas. Everywhere around us are very tall, very run down buildings all full of apartments. We hoofed up 3 flights to our apartment & were so tired & stunned that our 1st impression was "oh **** - what have we gotten ourselves ...
