... impressed. She asked me if I had any hazardous chemicals, and cleared my bear spray. She asked if she could look in so I rolled down a window- no way was I opening a door! She said that I definitely could not be hiding a person in here. There's barely enough room for me! I just saw a big U-Haul pulling a Ford Explorer on a trailer. I shudder to think of how many feet that is and how expensive that would be on the ferry. There's even one of those big semi's ...

... thrown by a passing vehicle and ended up with a broken window shield and window. The stone hit with such force that it went through both. They hadn't realized the damage until they stopped and by then their entire bed had glass all over it and all the bedding was wet from the rain. Again this is just for an overnight so no one unhooks. Most arrive weary from the trip. We are treated to a beautiful roast beef dinner and one of the best salads ...

We took some pictures and enjoyed the view. Still can't believe I am here.

It's acute little town, with an extremely high per capita of artists, photographers, wood carvers, writers, etc. I want to read "if you lived here, I would know your name". The author lives in Haines, she's a npr contributor, and the book is short stories about people in the town. The photographer, Eric, was friendly and very ...

... biking, stopped just off the road and Mary was hit by a run away trailer ( it was not chained to the vehicle). They were taken by ambulance to Haines' medical centre and were then flown to Juneau..our next stop and the Capital of Alaska. The GP went with them...the medical facilities are basic in Haines. We spent the night hoping the scans etc were clear or she was to be flown to Seattle. Stephen is earning his keep as our guide. It is off to Juneau ...
