... fabulously dressed children that decended on them trick or treating excitedly. For 2 hours I did not wipe the smile off my face between the hapiness of my children and the happiness of everybody around. My kids bags ended up over full so im pretty sure all of that candy will last us the rest of the trip. I know I say this alot but I could totally live here. The people ars lovely and there is something to be said about small towns ...

... a fairly early start. A couple of hours of Great Plains then the terrain changed instantly to hilly scrubland in New Mexico. Un-populated and not agricultural in any way. This is how it has been for millions of years without man trying to tame it.

... ago. An awesome place...the highest dunes in the US, so oddly tucked between major mountain ranges. There you can stand on a dune and gaze upon a 14,000 plus foot snow capped mountain , one of the 4 tallest MTS in the lower 48. The plan is to drive there..2 hours or so, set up camp and then go on mini walking adventures. A creek runs thrnear the dunes. In May the creek can run 3-4 feet deep...kids come to sled down ...
