They were studying oceanography which was perfect because the kids have a probe that they take samples from and send back the results to Graland, which is their school back home. ... whales? To our surprise they were Orcas!!! What a beautiful and rare sighting!! Everyone was so excited! (Especially Levi the dog) DIVING We start our diving on the north end of the island of Fakarava the second largest atoll in the Tuamotus. It is super long and flat which is opposite of what we saw in the Marquesas. Our first dive we encountered Manta Rays! This was our best view and interaction with multiple Mantas to date. ... If you weren’t a diver or avid snorkeler there wasn’t really anything to do here. There was an excursion to a black pear farm, but, seriously, how many of those you can you visit? I just went for a walk and took some local color pictures. I stayed for about an hour and then came back to the ship.

... Rangiroa was empty even though there was a surf competition for teenagers.

Ufortunately we didn't have much time to see all the beautiful places on Rangiroa and its huge lagoon. Nevertheless, our host Frederique told us about her friend's sister who owned a boat. She took us to a Green Lagoon.

... also a local to the island. The lady stretched off had not been able to breath due to this cold but due to cardiac problems. We have also had one die today of pneumonia. Healthily place to be. My cold has been terrible today, cough cough etc. nothing works. I give it tan other seven days if its not gone by then there is a secondary infection.
