... purchased a beautiful T-shirt for me we struck out along the road that lead a short distance to the ocean side of the island, IT was so worth the walk. What beauty awaited us, and the narrow passage that the ship had safety slipped through was now a cauldron of tossing waves, as the outgoing tide seemed to be even stronger now. WOW, WOW, WOW!!

... the third reef line. We noticed it just before sundown and so put the 3rd reef in and sailed through the night in lightening winds very much underpowered. The repair would have to wait for daylight but the reduced sail area cost us more than 2 knots.

Come Sunday morning the front had moved off to the North East and we were blessed with beautiful clear, blue skies, 10-14 knots of breeze, calm seas and a yacht that was screaming out to be unshackled ...

... It was such a short ride, but it felt very long when we walked :-)

Back on the ship around 2.Showered and cleaned. Had hamburgers for lunch. Our ship weighed anchor at 4:30. I got out on the balcony and watched Rangiroa as our ship sailed away - somehow I had not done this before.

We had dinner at the French specialty restaurant Jaques at 8pm. Again, stuffed myself. Continued packing after dinner. Tomorrow will be our last port call, Raiatea.
