We arrived in Brussels today and our B&B is spectacular - a trendy 2nd floor apartment right off the Grand Place. It is just a block from the train station and everything is within walking distance.

The history and architecture are breathtaking. Many of the churches are over a thousand years old!

Over the past couple of days we've travelled by train from Brussels to Brugge/Gent and Delft. The train system is fantastic and so easy to navigate. It sure makes that idea for a high-speed train from Calgary to Edmonton look better and better.

... I guess I did not completely understand that part of Belgian culture, but oh well. My last favorite memory of Brussels was the night my classmates and I caught the light show in the Grand Place, which was absolutely beautiful.

Overall, Brussels was a success, and I would not mind visiting in the future. Just not the near future. Wednesday morning, the group packed our bags and departed for Paris, which is yet another epic tale.....

Paris day 5/Brussels day 1.  We slept in a bit and grabbed our free breakfast before checking out and heading to the train station to be on our way to Brussels.
