Tyres - The legal tread depth for car tyres to pass through an MOT is 1.6mm. You should also look at the tyres for any nails or any other sharp objects, and appearance for any manifestation of cuts, chunks taken out with the tyre (sometimes caused by kerbing) and for any metal cords coming from the tyre. All with the above may cause problems during the time of the MOT.
