This was our last day in Brisbane, and we spent time in the morning walking along the Brisbane riverbank, beautiful with the Jacaranda trees in bloom. Sat admiring the scene while making some farewell phone calls.
Visited a store called Bunnings, which is like our B&Q to buy wood and metal bars so that Hughie could design a shelf for the plants on Doreen's balcony. The staff at Bunnings were ultra helpful ...
Our final destination before flying back to Sydney. Brisbane is a very modern city that is increasing in size all the time. It had a nice relaxed feel. We drove around taking in some of the sights. The botanical gardens were very nice and a good way to kill some time before our rendezvous with Elliots brother Ollie. He was kind enough to put us up for a couple of nights before our flight out on Friday, he lives in a beautiful part of town called Balmoral which has ...
Brisbane, Queensland, Australia pixelchick... everyone has to head outside - so after all that was done it as after midnight before we got to bed - the hostel was in a really old building too so it was pretty creepy and it had an old old elevator that was all wood and brass which had the sliding doors that you have to open yourself lol unsafe but pretty
so then today Erin and I left the hostel and are now staying at her friend Davey's house who lives in a suburb of Brisbane - we'll stay here for a few ...
... with me. Well maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, there's been a few lovely days of sunshine but it's still been bloody raining, especially at night.
Anyway, that's all for now - I'm exhausted now so having a very early night. I'm not working tomorrow thankfully - the joy of my boss being my cousin. Gary said he's still too hungover to go in tomorrow so if he's not going in, I don't have to either. Happy days!

... night. We met some season ticket holders in the bar before the game and they let us sit with them right down in front. The Reds got beat, but we had a great time. Sorry, no pictures of the rugby, because our camera is a pain to carry around (especially to bars). We were woken up by a fire alarm at 5 am. The whole hostel had to go outside for 30 minutes while the fire department put it out. Lots of fun.

Also morgen geehts dann mit unserem Gay Camper los!
Brisbane, Queensland, Australia guennibert... for events, something I actually want to do ! Its kind of, as they say, thrown a spanner in the works. Plus - there has been loads of flooding in New South Wales this week, where we would be camping in 2 weeks if we drove down to Sydney. It was bad enough being in the Campervan when we passed through 2 days of rain, im guessing camping in the rain wouldnt be that fun. Hehe but it should have cleared up by then surely? We have to decide pretty soon though ...
Brisbane, Queensland, Australia christinauk... it. I have flown thousands of times and never been stopped by security before and suddenly twice in one day. The Officer takes me to a cubicle so at least Barb is not there to see 'The Ring" if it is discovered. I get the all clear but now I'm a total wreck - This is already so much harder than I imagined.
We relax in the Qantas lounge until our flight is called and I have a couple of well earned beers. Barb is none the wiser about why I am ...
... breakfast. The roads along the banks of the river are all on stilts above the water and are tangle up like bits of spaghetti which looks wierd, the skyline would be pretty cool otherwise. Its quite a small city and feels very friendly. We went to the museum which was cool, free, quite small and varied. Then we rushed back to the hostel, picked up the bags and headed to Brisbane Transit centre for a 17 hour overnight bus and train to Sydney...
