... in Dixon at 4:30 and I decided to continue onto Freeport IL for the night and ________ at a nice place across the street from the West End Motel. Before ________( can't mention) Dave Banker needed one more shirt for the trip and there was a Good Will a 1/2 block from the Motel. Tuesday was our first wet and miserable day but it was nice to slow down. We attended Tom and Joey's Rotary Club - Fitchburg-Verona for lunch, where we were warmly welcomed. It is only a small club with 23 members but like most clubs works well for the community. On the way home we visited the Bavarian Deli to buy bratwurst and cheese from this store which has an incredible selection of german type foods. The bratwurst is in preparation ...

Overnight rain cleared for our short trip up to Wisconsin Dells to catch up with Julie Mor, who had led the GSE team to Australia in 2012. Wisconsin Dells is the 'waterpark capital' of USA with more indoor water parks than anywhere else. In 2012, David and his GSE team spent a weekend at Spring Brook Resort run by Julie and husband Dar. Overcast early but developed into a pleasant day to explore two of the botanic gardens that David had visited back in 2012. First we drove south to Janesville and the Rotary Botanic Garden, which had been developed from a Council sand quarry and dump by volunteers.
