We arrived in this beautiful place for a 2 night stay. The hotel is just gorgeous. Our room is spacious and very luxe. We have beautiful double french doors that open up onto a window box that overlooks the narrow street. We started our stay with a glass of wine and beer in the hotel bar before heading out for pizza and a bottle of Chianti. Strolling the chilly streets after we headed back to our warm hotel for a well deserved nights ...

Sundays are quiet days in France; many shops are closed. I enjoyed walking around historic downtown Rennes this morning in the silence and the light of a low angled autumn sun. I'm in bed now at the apartment in Erquay, yet another brilliant day. The scenery here is exquisite with rolling green hills dotted with stone houses that are definitely older than any building in Australia. We went to Saint Malo on the way and had lunch at a little restaurant there. I had mussels prepared in a cream and white wine sauce, I really enjoyed them, so much tastier than the Australian ones, I don't like them. Unfortunately they didn't have the giant macaroon for me to try ...
