    We took the train to Rennes, the current capital of Brittany. It was a bit of a train ride getting there and as we approached the terminus we were a little bit disappointed with what we saw - modern buildings and high rises. Oh well we will just have to make the most of it.

    It's a lovely morning, sunny and mild. We were up quite early, both having slept very well. The summer sun rises before 6am, and doesn't set til after 10pm. From our lovely little balcony on the 5th floor this morning the rosy glow over the golden dome of Invalides and the chimney pots of the terraces was so pretty at dawn.     ... mainly going up the Villaine but some going along the Canal de Nante a Brest though a great canal you cant actually get to Brest as someone built a barrage, though I think they are trying to rectify the problem, but these things take time.
    I am going to try to download some pictures so hold fire and lets see how it goes.
