... I was crazy mad with the speed of the descent.
Not much else happening today, had a nice pasta lunch and may double up for dinner. Cleaned the bike it was filthy with all the rain we have had and watched a little TDF.
We are off at sparrows to drive to Le Bourg D'Oisans to spend the day in the region. I will climb the legendary l' Alpe with its 21 hairpins and the meet Mich at the Saturday markets in Le Bourg.
In the hope of getting out of the bad weather of Les Deux Alpes, we headed for our next stop near Lac De Paladru, unfortunately we didn't, if anything the weather was worse with almost constant rain for the 2days we stayed, we were still recovering from our bugs so we again spent most of our time in the van..
We took a couple of walks out in between the showers so again not much to report here....

... we then set off to the Gorges du Fier near Lovagny. They were meant to have a waterfall but the water level was way too low. You will see us on the platform in the pics and the flood meter shows the water rising to about 6 meters above where we were standing.
Tomorrow another early ride before we head to Switzerland and the border city of Geneva.
... went to the delicatessen across the road where we got some fabulous goose liver pate, then headed back to the patio behind the hotel to eat. Connie made do with a coffee out of the vending machine. I should mention that this hotel is a gem. Great layout with the parking and cycle storage, but beyond that the rooms were nice and the whole hotel had this thousand year old feel to it but still was quite modern and very well kept. For cyclists, the granny gear is the lowest possible gear you have at your disposal. Unless one is climbing something pretty steep it's rarely used. Yesterday and today, it was used often…very often.
