      ... chateau, still occupied by the old countess. Will be interesting when she dies as to who will look after it. Just one of hundreds in France, too expensive to maintain or do up. They have a very spoilt dog who is rather cute. Lunch on the terrace & a quiet afternoon in the garden reading & chatting.       ... skipped rocks, chased B's new beach sandal down the river and laughed like mad things. it was so much fun that everyone wants to do it again! * * * Too hot to cook and besides, we are on holiday.
