    ... The B&B is perfect , nothing out of place and quality through and through but no dinner and no time to shop ! Our room room has an attached kitchen and our host supplied us with eggs and vegetables from his garden, plus a bottle of chilled C******nay so we cobbled an omelet together, nice meal actually . So to bed dear readers more chateau tomorrow and hopefully we will return early with food and time to enjoy the grounds ...

    Having said that it is actually a strikingly beautiful building dominated by a wonderfully grand double helix stair case inspired by Leonardo da Vinci.

    We enjoyed the cycle in the grounds and back to St Dye some 8km away.

    Camping for free in a magical place. Just like being at home but surrounded by 2000 years of history. Biking is a delight on dedicated roads, way safer and superior often to the main road. A swim was great and these camp sites have very few bugs ...

    ... wandered around the stalls. Given I am still wanting to shed some luggage I couldn't enjoy purchasing anything from the markets - except for a punnet of raspberries which we shared at lunch. Our return to Blois was via a forest trail - where there were a large number of very bright orange clubs crossing the road.
