Sadly New Orleans was a Bust
... thinking it's someone's car stereo, but it just gets louder and louder until I'm sure it's not a stereo anymore and I run outside to look and the local high school marching band is practicing for mardi gras as they march down the street with baton girls, flag girls, drums, tubas and the whole nine yards. ... We saw a couple of alligators and fed them from the boat, visited a riverside Cajun village and saw and fed some racoons which were just adorable. Highly recommended, and the bus driver gave us some commentary on the city and the Katrina story on the way there. As I wrote earlier, we did have the sounds of Bourbon Street blaring until well into the early morning, but we all slept nonetheless. We elected to take a city tour during the morning, if only to convince me that there were some redeeming areas of the city worth seeing.
