Dordogne - Bastides, chateaux and walnuts
It took some superior problem solving to find our accommodation in Sarlat as the GPS didn't register the name or address at all. Finally, after a phone call, we wound our way up the hill above the town to the impressive old building that was set amongst the walnut trees and was once a monastery. The room was fittingly, almost monastically simple but still spacious and comfortable. Jean Luc and Martine are the hosts and I felt that perhaps Jean Luc was ...

(By the way, C loved her Thai massage). Decided to visit old town ...

30 years today we were married at St Lucia, Brisbane! Doesn't seem nearly that long! Nathalie, our hostess, organized a small gathering with the other guests, on the terrace at Lys de Castelnaud. Had Mumm champagne we'd bought earlier & fruit liquors that Nathalie's husband makes (orange & walnut). Then in to La Roque Gageac to La Belle Etoile - recommended by Nathalie when I first booked the accomodation. Booked the restaurant as a surprise for our anniversary. Lovely ...
