... meal I have ever had. Well, at least it is up in the top five. Three courses - at lunch - with wine. Specialty in the region is duck and Alan approved heartily. I loved the olives, the charcuterie, the pasta and the crème brulee. I will let the pictures speak for themselves. We are still stuffed hours later as I write this.

Painting class tomorrow. Yippee. Plans to spend my birthday in Sarlat -le-Caneda on Friday and Saturday. Maybe I am dreaming...

Ok, so we are back in Bordeaux . Apparently Damien has a trip to a Bordeaux winery on his bucket list, so who am I to shatter a mans dreams? She was really nice, and had a really nice house, that was built in 1398, it was owned by the monks. It had been in her family since the seventeenth century. We went underground to see millions of bottles of ...

Today Lori and I started off by going to see the Guggenheim, the art museum in bilbao. It was absolutely stunning and is truly an architectural masterpiece. Also in bilbao is a pedestrian bridge. Equally as useless as our peace bridge and astoundingly designed by the exact same architect! After that we drove to one of worlds oldest winery ...

      St Emilion sandwich

We had two very long road trips but in the middle we stopped in St Emilion for five days with my "old" friends, Garry and Shirley Boyd. We were delighted, once again, with the warm welcome we received and with the environment we found ourselves in. We travelled through many different landscapes to arrive eventually in st Emilion, after staying overnight in a forest, in a four hundred year old farm with some lovely ATC hosts Karen and ...
