We were sad to leave our wild spot of Cornwall, but we had s perfect day of travel across Dartmoor. Parts of it were wild and isolated. All the Dartmoor ponies had new foals and all the new born lambs were prancing about. The Dartmoor prison looked suitably grey, Victorian and forbidding. ... few hours before catching the last boat back to Poole at 5 o'clock. We then had dinner in the King Charles pub, the oldest pub in Poole, which apparently has been proven to be haunted. One of the ghosts is a lady that hung herself upstairs after her husband disappeared at sea. We didn't see any but the waitress seemed to be quite nervous about working in the upstairs dining ...

... we're off to Torquay. Our final stop for the day is Poole. I had my first turn behind the wheel today, driving from Torquay to Poole, about 3 hours. Of course after taking the wheel about 10 minutes later Miss GPS takes me onto the M5, wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Today was mostly for the men of the party, we visited the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm Museum, at Yeovilton the base outside Yeovil. Clem mainly wanted to go because the Concorde 002, which had flown into Melbourne in 1972 & on which he had helped fix the hydraulics when he was a maintenance Engineer with QANTAS was there.
