... Now comes the good part. Tuesday we rode a ferry to Mackinac Island. It was unbelievable! The morning started out at 58 degrees so we had to layer our clothes to keep warm for the ferry ride and then the horse drawn carriage ride on the island. There are no cars or motorized vehicles allowed on the island. It was quite an experience seeing the horse drawn carriages doing jobs like cars and trucks would normally do. Jim was busy ...

After a big breakfast, we went hiking in Trout Creek. Once we found the trails, we were on our way. A little stream flowed through the woods. Walking sticks in hand, we pushed through the woods fighting off the occasional bug. However, bugs got the best of us and we returned after 20 minutes.
